About the role
This position is for an Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine within the Department of Mental Health, Child Care and Adult Medicine at the College of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences. Two positions are available. The role suits someone who has developed their own research and teaching interests and is becoming known nationally for their work. Responsibilities span curriculum development, scholarly publication, and academic leadership in teaching and research within the Emergency Medicine speciality.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute effectively to curriculum development in Emergency Medicine
- Publish regularly in peer-reviewed international journals or other appropriate outlets
- Chair sessions at or participate in organising committees of academic conferences and disciplinary meetings
- Demonstrate academic leadership in teaching and/or research speciality
- Undertake administrative duties at Department/School level or above
- Provide evidence of consultancies in your area of expertise
About the successful candidate
- MBBS plus Master's degree with specialist registration (either more than 5 years or less than 5 years work experience)
- Demonstrated evidence in learning and teaching with potential to become an effective teacher
- Industrial or clinical experience in Emergency Medicine
- Evidence of meeting at least one of: University Service (administration), Community Service (contributions to wider profession), or Academic Leadership and collegiality
