About the role

Position Number: LSP066 - Senior Technician in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering (MM) The Opportunity The appointee will be responsible for the management of all the Engineering Laboratories under the Discipline of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. The person will be required to train Laboratory Technicians, support school staff, and supervise the day-to-day organization and running of the Mechanical and Manufacturing laboratories. The person will be required to coordinate and setup practical classes for undergraduate students, provide technical assistance to postgraduate students and maintenance of MM equipment. The appointee will also be required to assist academic staff on technical matters and assist in research work and consultancy. He/She will also be required to monitor and maintain the laboratory OHS standards. He/she should be highly experienced with all laboratory procedures in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. Other duties include basic repair and maintenance of equipment used for teaching and research in the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. He/ She should be familiar with procurement and basic Finance operations. The position of Senior Technician in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering is to assist the Discipline Coordinator of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. The incumbent will be required to work independently and unsupervised in getting the parts, equipment, resources for the labs, projects and get the fabrication on time.

Key responsibilities
