About the role
This Painter role at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay involves applying paint, stain, and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. You will prepare surfaces with primers or sealers, remove old finishes through stripping, sanding, and blasting techniques, and maintain a safe, professional work environment. The role also includes coordinating with vendors on paint and finish colors, and upholding company safety and security policies. Key responsibilities
- Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers
- Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats
- Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting
- Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs
- Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas
- Coordinate with vendors to modify colors of paint, stain, or varnish
- Follow all company, safety, and security policies; report maintenance problems and safety hazards
- Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards and anticipate their service needs
About the successful candidate
- Fiji citizen (position open to Fiji citizens only)
- Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree preferred
- 1 year of related work experience preferred
- Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Capable of moving up and down a ladder and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
