About the role

The Human Resources Executive (Island Based) supports daily HR operations at the resort, covering administration, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and HR systems support. The role ensures HR processes are delivered efficiently and in line with company policy, legal requirements, and Marriott brand standards. The successful candidate will work closely with department leaders, associates, and the HR team on talent acquisition, employee engagement, personnel administration, payroll processes, and learning and development initiatives. This is an island-based position requiring residence on the resort island during scheduled work periods, with rostered shifts and flexible scheduling based on operational needs. The role calls for strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with on-island and cluster teams in a remote resort environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Support daily HR operations, including creating and maintaining employee personnel files, HR records, and filing systems
  • Support all recruitment and hiring activities including coordinating interviews, candidate assessments, employment verification, reference checks, background checks, and drug screening
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and orientation programs for new associates, assisting with required documentation and employment processes
  • Serve as a point of contact for associate HR queries and internal transfer requests, and support employee engagement and recognition programs
  • Assist with payroll administration and employee record maintenance, ensuring documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time
  • Coordinate orientation and HR-related training programs, and assist with administration and tracking of training records and compliance requirements
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and Marriott standards, including maintaining accurate employment records and supporting audits and compliance reviews
  • Provide professional and responsive HR support to associates and leaders, managing correspondence and HR documents accurately and on time

About the successful candidate

  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years of Human Resources, Administration, Recruitment, Payroll, or related work experience
  • Previous experience in a hotel, resort, hospitality, or service-based environment is an advantage
  • Knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, personnel administration, and employment documentation processes
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Adaptability to working in a remote resort environment and supporting a diverse workforce
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with on-island and cluster teams
