About the role

The Compliance and Audit Analyst ensures the hotel operates within the legal and regulatory framework set by government and industry bodies, protecting the property's reputation and operations. The role covers developing and implementing compliance policies, monitoring adherence to regulations through audits and risk assessments, and reviewing internal controls for effectiveness. It includes delivering training to build staff awareness of compliance requirements, investigating incidents and breaches, and implementing corrective actions. The analyst prepares compliance reports for regulatory bodies, maintains records of compliance activities, and works closely with hotel management, legal advisors, and external auditors. The position also involves identifying compliance risks and developing mitigation plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the hotel complies with all relevant local laws and regulations
  • Stay updated on new and changing laws and regulations affecting the hotel industry
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures
  • Ensure policies are effectively communicated and understood across all levels of hotel staff
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments
  • Monitor internal controls and systems for effectiveness and legal compliance
  • Develop and deliver training programs on compliance-related topics
  • Investigate and respond to compliance incidents and breaches, implementing corrective actions

About the successful candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Auditing or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in Compliance, Internal Audit, or Regulatory roles, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and standards within the hotel industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of integrity and ethical judgment
