About the role
As a Landscape GSA at Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, you will monitor and maintain the resort's property grounds to ensure a consistently pleasant appearance. You will manage all aspects of landscape maintenance, from installing and caring for flowers, trees, and shrubs to operating irrigation systems and maintaining lawns. This includes operating vehicles and equipment to transport materials and debris around the property. The role is essential to upholding the resort's high standards of hospitality and creating a welcoming environment for guests.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance and adherence to quality expectations
- Maintain fountains, planters, and other grounds features by cleaning, replacing, and making repairs
- Install new flowers, bulbs, grass, trees, and shrubs; replace and transplant as needed
- Maintain flower beds, baskets, and boxes by watering, removing weeds, trimming, and performing routine maintenance
- Maintain trees and shrubs by trimming and pruning; trim and edge grass in areas mowers cannot reach
- Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems
- Operate dump trucks, tractors, trucks, or utility vehicles to transport equipment, supplies, materials, and debris
- Wash, clean, and refuel all equipment after use; visually inspect tools and equipment for defects
About the successful candidate
- Fiji Citizen (position open to Fiji Citizens only)
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- At least 1 year of related landscaping or grounds maintenance work experience
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Comfortable moving over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and working on ladders
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
