About the role
This role is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and upkeep of the resort's outdoor grounds to ensure a clean and pleasant environment for guests. The Grounds Guest Service Assistant handles lawn care, garden maintenance, and the cleaning and repair of outdoor features such as fountains, planters, sidewalks, and pathways. The role also involves operating landscaping equipment and utility vehicles such as tractors and trucks to transport tools and supplies around the property. Regular monitoring of the grounds is required to maintain aesthetic standards, along with appropriate responses to changing weather conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the overall appearance of property grounds to ensure a clean and pleasant environment
- Perform lawn care including mowing, edging, raking leaves, and general upkeep
- Maintain flower beds, baskets, and planters through watering, weeding, and trimming
- Clean, wash, and refuel landscaping equipment after use
- Empty and dispose of waste from all exterior trash bins
- Maintain fountains, planters, and other outdoor features including cleaning and minor repairs
- Repair and maintain sidewalks, driveways, pathways, and parking areas
- Operate tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies
About the successful candidate
- Relevant experience in a similar grounds or landscaping role
- Working rights in Fiji
- Basic understanding of landscaping, gardening, or grounds maintenance
- Ability to operate or willingness to learn landscaping tools and equipment
- Physically fit and able to perform manual outdoor work in varying conditions
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or within a team
- Previous experience in hospitality, tourism, or customer service is advantageous but not essential
