About the role
This Mechanic role owns the routine maintenance and preventative care of property vehicles and equipment at the resort, ensuring all fleet assets remain in safe and reliable working condition. Duties span trucks, vans, and electric carts, along with the tools and equipment used across the property. The role requires accurate record-keeping and coordination with management on maintenance needs and supply requirements. Associates in this position work within a people-first environment and have access to internationally recognized training programs and career development opportunities within Marriott's global hotel network.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on property vehicles including trucks, vans, and electric carts
- Check oil, fluid levels, tire pressure, and battery charge; replace spark plugs as required
- Conduct preventative maintenance on tools and equipment through cleaning and lubrication
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and request parts when needed
- Keep accurate daily logs of maintenance activities, test results, and equipment issues
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions and maintenance needs to management
About the successful candidate
- Relevant experience in a similar mechanic or maintenance role
- Working rights in Fiji
- Technical, Trade, or Vocational qualification in mechanical, electrical, or engineering disciplines
- Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles, tools, and equipment with strong troubleshooting skills
- Safety-conscious with good understanding of maintenance procedures and physically fit for manual tasks
- Detail-oriented with reliable record-keeping ability; able to work independently and as part of a team
