About the role
This role sits within the resort's grounds team and is central to maintaining irrigation infrastructure and the golf course landscape at the Denarau property. The Irrigation Technician installs, maintains, and operates irrigation systems, ensuring optimal water management across the resort and course. Duties extend to managing tool and equipment inventory, coordinating parts procurement, and recording water usage from pumps and wells. The technician also executes specialised golf course improvement projects such as bunker and tee rebuilding and drainage installation, and maintains the appearance of fountains, planters, and other grounds features.
Key responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems across the resort and golf course
- Conduct inventory of tools, equipment, and materials to ensure sufficient supplies and usable condition
- Complete requests for irrigation parts and supplies
- Record water usage from pumps and wells
- Perform special golf course improvement projects, such as rebuilding bunkers and tees or performing drainage installation
- Maintain the appearance of fountains, planters, and other grounds features by cleaning, replacing, or making repairs
- Operate tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles to transport equipment, supplies, and debris
About the successful candidate
- Relevant experience in a similar irrigation or grounds maintenance role
- Working rights in Fiji
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and entire work shifts
- Capacity to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight
- Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and reach overhead and below the knees
