About the role
This Housekeeping Attendant role is responsible for maintaining guest rooms to the resort's cleanliness and presentation standards. The attendant works from a supply cart, moving between assigned areas to service rooms, replace linens and amenities, and carry out general cleaning and tidying tasks. The role also involves responding promptly to guest and departmental requests, checking room appliances for proper function, and following safety and security procedures. Attendants are expected to maintain a professional appearance, communicate clearly with guests and colleagues, and work as part of a team to uphold quality expectations. The position involves physical tasks such as lifting, pushing loaded carts, and standing or moving for extended periods during a shift.
Key responsibilities
- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments
- Fill and transport the housekeeping cart with supplies to assigned areas
- Enter guest rooms following correct access and vacancy procedures
- Replace guest amenities, supplies, linens, and terry with clean items
- Make beds, clean bathrooms, and remove trash and room service items
- Check that all room appliances are present and in working order
- Straighten furniture and desk items, dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings
- Vacuum carpets and perform floor care duties in guest rooms and hallways
About the successful candidate
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
- Around 1 year of related work experience preferred
- No supervisory experience required
- No specific license or certification required
- Able to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds unassisted, and heavier items with assistance
- Able to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart over sloping and uneven surfaces
- Able to stand, kneel, bend, or walk for an extended period across a full shift
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
