About the role
This Sales Executive - Reactive role sits within the Sales & Marketing team and handles inbound guest calls, requests, and reservation matters. The position is responsible for resolving guest queries by liaising with relevant departments such as Sales, Data Administration, and Accounting. It involves using sales techniques including up-selling to maximize revenue while maintaining guest loyalty, and determining complimentary gifts such as rewards points or show tickets for guest patronage. The role also supports broader Sales & Marketing office functions and requires maintaining brand standards, professional communication, and positive working relationships with colleagues.
Key responsibilities
- Contact appropriate individuals or departments (Sales, Data Administration, Accounting) to resolve guest calls, requests, or problems.
- Use sales techniques, including up-selling, to maximize revenue while maintaining guest loyalty to Marriott.
- Determine and give complimentaries to guests as gifts for their patronage (e.g., rewards points, show tickets, gift certificates).
- Promote awareness of brand image internally and externally.
- Process requests for redeeming Marriott Rewards points.
- Process all reservation requests, changes, and cancellations received by phone, fax, or mail.
- Enter Marriott Rewards information into appropriate software when taking guest reservations.
- Perform general office duties to support Sales & Marketing (e.g., filing, sending emails, typing, faxing).
About the successful candidate
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 2 years of related work experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No license or certification required.
- Able to speak with others using clear and professional language, and prepare and review written documents accurately.
- Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals.
- Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Open to Fiji citizens only.
