About the role
The Project Driver & Logistics Support Officer provides safe, reliable and efficient transport while supporting the project's logistics, administration and operational coordination needs. The role helps ensure smooth delivery of field operations, stakeholder engagements, workshops, travel arrangements, procurement logistics and day-to-day project activities across Papua New Guinea. The position reports to the Senior Program Manager. By combining driving, logistics and administrative support, the role contributes directly to effective, responsive and well-coordinated project delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Provide safe, reliable and timely transport for project staff, partners, consultants and visitors, planning routes and coordinating vehicle movements
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain logbooks, fuel and mileage records, and coordinate servicing and repairs
- Support planning and coordination of workshops, meetings, training events and field visits, including transport, venue, accommodation and catering arrangements
- Support procurement logistics, including collection and delivery of supplies and equipment, and coordinate movement of materials between offices, partners and field locations
- Assist with document filing, photocopying, scanning, record management and meeting logistics
- Maintain inventory records for project assets and equipment, and support periodic asset verification and stock checks
- Follow Oxfam policies on safety, security, safeguarding and conduct, promptly reporting incidents, accidents or breaches
- Provide general operational and administrative support across project activities, including during field deployments and peak implementation periods
About the successful candidate
- A minimum of three years' experience in a professional driving role
- A valid Papua New Guinea driver licence with a demonstrated safe driving record
- Experience driving in urban, rural and remote locations
- Experience supporting logistics, administration or operational functions
- Good knowledge of vehicle-maintenance requirements and basic troubleshooting
- Completion of secondary education
- Strong safety awareness, defensive-driving skills, organisation and logistics coordination abilities, with accurate record-keeping, reliability, professionalism, integrity and good communication skills
- Desirable: a certificate or relevant training in Administration, Logistics, Business Studies, Transport Management or a related field
