Post Fiji is the national postal service provider, delivering mail, logistics and related services across the country. The organisation maintains its own warehouse, procurement and distribution functions to support its operations.
About the role
This role leads and manages the overall operations and performance of the Procurement Unit at Post Fiji. It covers sourcing, negotiation and compliance for goods and services purchased across the organisation, working closely with the Warehouse Department to monitor stock levels and shipments. The Manager Procurement also oversees procurement systems, reporting and budgeting, and is responsible for leading, supervising and developing procurement staff. This is Vacancy 50/26.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the overall operations and performance of the Procurement Unit
- Ensure purchasing is conducted transparently and in line with Post Fiji policies and procedures, including DLA compliance
- Negotiate competitive prices and favourable terms with suppliers, vendors and freight forwarders
- Monitor supplier performance for quality and delivery, and work with Warehouse to oversee stock levels and shipments
- Ensure procurement pricing complies with FCCC and FRCS requirements, and import/export compliance procedures are followed
- Conduct short- and long-term procurement planning and inventory analysis
- Manage procurement activities within the Post Global Management System, including LPOs, pricing and reporting
- Prepare procurement reports, maintain records, and prepare the annual departmental budget
About the successful candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, with courses in Procurement Management, Inventory Control and Stock Management
- At least 10 years' experience in a leadership role
- Experience with Post Global and Navision software, effective negotiation skills and FMCG knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Proven ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision, delivering timely results
- Results-driven leader with proven management skills
- Track record of building and managing relationships with a variety of key stakeholders
