About the role

This role is based in Suva under Vacancy 54/26 and is responsible for completing deliveries and pickups within standard timeframes between designated locations. The driver verifies manifests against physical items, plans efficient delivery routes, and sorts packages by drop-off order. The role also covers sorting and dispatching air freight, sea freight, and surface cargo with correct destination tags, assisting with loading line-haul trucks, and conducting daily vehicle inspections. Accurate record-keeping is a key part of the job, including Proof of Delivery manifests, vehicle mileage books, daily servicing forms, and daily mail statistics.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed within standard timeframes between designated locations
  • Verify manifests against physical items to ensure accuracy prior to delivery
  • Plan delivery routes efficiently and sort packages according to designated drop-off order
  • Record accurate and complete details on the Proof of Delivery manifest
  • Check and verify morning off-load items against the Long Way list provided by the office
  • Sort, close, and dispatch air freight, sea freight, and surface cargo with correct destination Mail/Parcel Tags
  • Assist with safe and efficient loading of line-haul trucks
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and maintain servicing forms, mileage records, and insurance documentation

About the successful candidate

  • At least a Fiji Seventh Form Examination pass
  • At least 5 years of driving experience with similar organisations
  • Knowledge of vehicle repairs and maintenance
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexibly in demanding situations
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and deliver on targets
  • Group 2 manual driving license required
  • Group 1 (Motor Bike) driving license an added advantage
