The organisation provides access to quality drinking water and wastewater services to over 159,000 residential and 33,540 non-residential metered customers in urban areas, and also sets up water supply systems in rural areas.
About the role
This Graduate Trainee role in Data Analytics offers structured training in data collection, analysis, and visualisation to support the organisation's operational efficiency and service delivery. The trainee will work across internal departments to develop insights that drive decision-making and contribute to projects focused on operational excellence, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance. Training will cover dashboard and report development, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and data modelling, cleansing, and validation techniques.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal departments to collect, process, and analyse data related to infrastructure performance and key performance indicators
- Assist in developing dashboards, reports, and data visualisations to support decision-making and operational efficiency
- Work on predictive and prescriptive analytics projects to optimise resource allocation and improve service delivery
- Learn and apply data modelling, cleansing, and validation techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability of datasets
- Support the implementation of data-driven initiatives, including machine learning and ICT applications
- Participate in cross-functional teams on projects aimed at operational efficiencies, financial sustainability, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics and the water sector
About the successful candidate
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or any relevant discipline in development
- 2 years relevant work experience
