About the role
The Engineer (Delivery) provides engineering services for water and wastewater infrastructure construction projects, developing realistic and achievable project plans. The role works in close liaison with the Regional Senior Engineer Construction, Manager Delivery, and Manager Design in planning and executing works. The engineer oversees construction projects from conception to completion, including reviewing schedules, estimating costs, and resolving design-related site issues. This position also involves preparing PSIP submissions and business cases to secure capital funding, monitoring contractor performance against contractual obligations, and ensuring quality and risk management standards are met on site.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective, realistic and achievable construction project plans in liaison with Regional Senior Engineer Construction and Manager Delivery & Design
- Prepare technical reports, drawings and documentation associated with project outcomes in a timely and complete manner
- Prepare PSIP submissions to attain capital funding for construction works, including business cases
- Oversee construction projects from conception to completion, reviewing schedules, estimating costs accurately and resolving design-related site issues
- Monitor and report on contractor performance and contractual obligations, ensuring targets are met on time
- Review work progress daily and submit reports to Manager and Regional Senior Engineer Construction
- Implement and monitor risk management plans at work sites to ensure full compliance with quality construction standards and proper techniques
- Develop, review and refine Standard Operating Procedures for all construction projects
About the successful candidate
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- At least 2 years' experience in construction or civil engineering delivery
