About the role

As a Graduate Engineer (Electrical), you will support the design, installation, maintenance, and optimisation of electrical systems that power water and wastewater infrastructure. This role encompasses system design, installation oversight, preventive and corrective maintenance, operational support, project management, compliance, and documentation across the organisation's mechanical and electrical operations. You will work closely with installation teams and subcontractors to ensure electrical systems meet design specifications and industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in designing electrical circuits for control panels, motor drives, and power distribution systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational requirements
  • Support development and implementation of control systems for automation and monitoring, including PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems
  • Oversee installation of electrical systems, manage installation teams and subcontractors, and ensure work meets design specifications and industry best practices
  • Conduct inspections and testing of installed systems to verify compliance with design specifications and performance criteria
  • Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems, including scheduling inspections, servicing, and creating maintenance checklists
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical failures using diagnostic tools and techniques, analyse system performance data, and perform corrective repairs
  • Monitor electrical system performance using diagnostic tools and SCADA systems, detect trends, predict failures, and respond to system alerts and alarms
  • Provide technical assistance to operations staff, develop and deliver training programs on new systems and best practices
