The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) is a corporate body established under the Water Authority of Fiji Act 2007 to manage and administer water and wastewater systems across Fiji. It provides quality drinking water and wastewater services to over 159,000 residential and 33,540 non-residential metered customers in urban areas. WAF is also responsible for setting up water supply systems in rural areas across the country.
About the role
As an ICT Support Officer, you will deliver comprehensive technical support across WAF's entire ICT infrastructure, including end-user devices, cloud services, mobile telecommunications, and communication platforms. This role acts as a critical technical resource supporting the organisation's operations through timely troubleshooting, infrastructure maintenance, and regional ICT coordination. You will handle both onsite and remote support requests, working across networking, cloud, and mobile device systems, and escalating complex issues to Infrastructure Engineers or external vendors when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Provide onsite and remote support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and software applications
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues
- Escalate complex issues to Infrastructure Engineers or external vendors as required
- Maintain service requests and incident records in the ICT service management system
- Assist in maintaining LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, and Internet services, and support installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network equipment
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services including cloud-hosted servers, virtual machines, storage, backups, and security compliance activities
- Manage WAF mobile devices and coordinate mobile service provisioning, activation, suspension, and upgrades with telecommunications providers, including support for Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions
- Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, IP telephony, Cloud PBX, and video conferencing systems
About the successful candidate
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of ICT support experience
