About the role

Shipping Services (Fiji) Pte Limited ("SSFL"), a leading provider of shipping agency and logistics services in Fiji, invites applications from highly experienced and quialifed professionals for the position of Accountant. SSFL is a well-established locally owned organisation operating within the shipping, transport and logistics sector, supporting international shipping principals and regional operations. The Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining financial governance across the organisation. This role requires a close working relationship with the Group Chief Financial Officer, providing leadership across key finance functions, including accounts payable, receivables and financial reporting. Key responsibilities will include: ✔ Leading the month-end closing process and ensuring timely preparation of accurate management accounts and financial statements. ✔ Preparing and analysing monthly financial reports, including detailed variance analysis against budget. ✔ Managing budgeting and forecasting processes, including cash flow projections to ensure liquidity. ✔ Overseeing intercompany reconciliations across branches, overseas agents, and shipping principals. ✔ Supervising accounts payable, receivable, and payroll functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency. ✔ Managing the Fixed Asset Register and supporting financial evaluation of capital expenditure. ✔ Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT and tax filings.

Key responsibilities
