The company is building a talent pool of candidates from or with strong connections to Tuvalu and the Solomon Islands for a potential upcoming phone survey project.

About the role

This is an Expression of Interest (EOI) for a potential phone survey and research project, not a confirmed job. The role would involve contacting members of the public by phone, following a structured questionnaire and accurately recording responses. It is based onsite at the Nabua, Suva City office, with a roster of 8am to 5pm FJ time, and is a project-based opportunity. Recruitment is subject to confirmation of the client project, and registering interest does not guarantee employment. University students, recent graduates and other candidates who speak Tuvaluan, Solomon Islands Pijin or other relevant local languages are encouraged to register.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct outbound telephone surveys using an approved questionnaire.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with survey participants.
  • Accurately capture and record survey responses.
  • Follow provided scripts, processes and survey guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling information.
  • Meet expected quality and productivity requirements.

About the successful candidate

  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence speaking with people over the phone.
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Ability to speak Tuvaluan, Solomon Islands Pijin or other relevant languages of Tuvalu or the Solomon Islands will be highly regarded.
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work accurately.
  • A reliable and professional approach to work.
  • Previous experience in customer service, call centres, research, surveys or community engagement would be an advantage but is not essential.
