About the role
The Network Administrator is based at EFL's Head Office in Suva and reports to the Manager IT Systems. This role installs, configures, monitors, and maintains EFL's network infrastructure across its nationwide sites, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security within a hybrid on-premise and cloud environment. The position plays a key role in maintaining WAN connectivity, supporting Cisco and Meraki devices, and ensuring high service uptime for business continuity. Nationwide travel to EFL sites will be required, with standard working hours and flexibility depending on project delivery needs.
Key responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including Cisco routers, switches, and Meraki access points.
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve connectivity issues.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
- Collaborate with Systems and Security teams to ensure secure data transmission between on-premise and cloud environments.
- Manage WAN and LAN configurations and ensure stable connectivity between corporate offices and remote sites.
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and inventories.
- Support network-related components within VMware and Nutanix environments.
- Participate in network-related projects, upgrades, and migrations.
About the successful candidate
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years' experience in enterprise network administration.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies (switches, routers, firewalls).
- Experience managing and troubleshooting Meraki access points.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification desirable.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with strong ownership and accountability.
