About the role

This role sits within HFC Bank's Internal Audit & Investigations team and reports to the Head of Internal Audit & Investigations. The Manager Internal Audit supports delivery of independent assurance and advisory services across the Bank, including execution of internal audits, investigations, and strategic audit initiatives. The role involves leading planned audit assignments from planning through to reporting and follow-up, supervising audit team members, and developing audit programs and methodologies. It also carries responsibility for reviewing internal controls and governance frameworks, preparing audit and investigation reports, and supporting regulatory and external audit coordination.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Internal Audit & Investigations in the execution of the Bank's approved annual risk-based internal audit plan.
  • Lead and manage planned internal audit assignments from planning through to reporting and follow-up.
  • Assist in conducting special investigations, fraud investigations, whistleblower investigations, and other confidential assignments as directed.
  • Undertake consulting and advisory engagements aimed at strengthening governance, risk management, and internal controls.
  • Supervise, guide, and review the work of audit team members to ensure audits are completed effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with professional standards.
  • Develop audit programs, testing methodologies, checklists, and working paper templates for planned and unplanned audit engagements.
  • Review and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance frameworks across the Bank.
  • Prepare high-quality audit, investigation, and special assignment reports for management review, and monitor implementation of agreed management action plans.

About the successful candidate

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Banking, Finance, Commerce, Information Systems, Risk Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as CA, CIA, CPA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management, compliance, investigations, or banking operations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards, risk-based auditing methodologies, governance frameworks, and banking regulations.
  • Experience in conducting investigations, fraud reviews, and whistleblower investigations will be highly desirable.
  • Exposure to information technology audits, treasury operations, trade finance, credit operations, and digital banking environments will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, report-writing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, sound judgement, and attention to detail.
