About the role

This position sits within the Department of Maintenance under the Division of Estates & Facilities, based in Ba. The role involves joinery and carpentry work covering the construction, maintenance, alteration, and repair of building components such as flooring, ceilings, roofs, stairways, doors, window frames, and furniture. Candidates need a Trade Certificate, trade test qualification, or relevant technical training certificate, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out construction, maintenance, alteration, and repair of building and facilities components
• Work on flooring, ceilings, roofs, and stairways
• Install and repair doors and window frames
• Build and repair furniture and related building components

About the successful candidate

• Trade Certificate, trade test qualification, or relevant technical training certificate, or equivalent combination of experience, knowledge, and training
• A minimum of 4 years' relevant trade experience in carpentry or joinery with a Trade Certificate, trade test qualification, or relevant technical training certificate
• OR more than 10 years of relevant carpentry/joinery field experience in Building Maintenance or the construction industry
• Current and clean Fiji Driver's license (desirable)
