About the role

This position supports and assists in the delivery of quality nutrition management and services to meet the needs of service users and the objectives of the organisation. The Senior Dietician provides administrative, management and leadership functions for dietetics and nutrition services at the hospital. The role involves technical support, training and mentoring of staff and other health professionals, and monitoring and evaluating nutrition programs and projects. It also requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, reporting, and contribution to departmental planning and budgeting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative, management and leadership role in the delivery of quality dietetics and nutrition services at hospital
• Provide technical support and identify changing needs and opportunities to improve nutrition services according to approved clinical practice guideline standards and protocols
• Provide training, coaching, mentoring and continuous professional development to staff and other health professionals
• Ensure compliance to all relevant policies, protocols and guidelines and promote quality improvements
• Monitor and evaluate all nutrition programs and projects
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and submit reports
• Actively contribute to departmental requirements, including planning, budgeting and corporate activities
• Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with safe work procedures

About the successful candidate

• Bachelor of Dietetics & Nutrition or similar from a recognized University
• At least 10 years related work experience in a Clinical supervisory role and Hospital Food Service Administration
• Knowledge of Diet Therapy Principles and practices in managing nutrition-related diseases in public health, therapeutic diets, and patient care in hospital
• Extensive specialist knowledge in nutrition support for patients undergoing special clinical management and home enteral nutrition
• Experience coordinating and developing a clinical dietetics service, including clinical pathways, models of care, database establishment and outcomes monitoring
• Knowledge and experience in training and development of staff, and in monitoring, evaluation, risks and mitigation
• Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety Standards, Infection Control and Employee Relations
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage and work in a resource-constrained environment
