About the role
This Security Officer role is responsible for the safety and security of premises, personnel, and assets at Aspen Medical's Ba site. The position involves monitoring surveillance equipment, patrolling designated areas, responding to incidents, and enforcing security policies and procedures. The officer plays a role in preventing unauthorized access, deterring criminal activity, and maintaining a safe environment for employees, visitors, and customers. Findings and incident reports are to be made to the Security Supervisor or management.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of buildings, parking areas, and grounds to detect signs of intrusion or unusual activity
- Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and other security equipment to identify potential risks or incidents
- Control access to buildings and restricted areas by verifying identity of employees, visitors, and contractors
- Maintain accurate records of entry and exit times for individuals accessing secure areas
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents such as theft, vandalism, or disturbances, contacting law enforcement or emergency services if needed
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities, and report findings to the Security Supervisor or management
- Enforce security policies and safety regulations, assist in evacuations, and participate in emergency drills
- Conduct inspections of bags, packages, or vehicles as required, and use and maintain security equipment such as radios, cameras, and alarm systems
About the successful candidate
- High school certificate or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in security or a related field preferred
- Experience in corporate security, retail security, or similar is advantageous
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for report writing and public interaction
- Ability to assess situations quickly and take appropriate action
- Good physical condition with the ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods
- High level of integrity, professionalism, reliability, and punctuality
