About the role

As Night Manager at Hilton Fiji in Suva, this role oversees hotel operations during the night shift, ensuring service excellence across all guest touchpoints. Duties include financial reconciliation such as balancing day shift accounts, posting room charges and taxes, auditing transactions, and reconciling cash drawers. The role also covers end-of-day reporting, including occupancy percentages and total revenue, for management review. Beyond guest-facing duties, the Night Manager resolves escalated guest concerns, manages emergencies to ensure guest safety and protocol adherence, and supports staff development to improve performance and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

  • Balance day shift accounts, post room charges and taxes, audit transactions, and reconcile cash drawers
  • Generate end-of-day financial and operational reports, including occupancy percentages and total revenue, for management review
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests
  • Handle late check-ins and early check-outs, answer phone calls, and process reservations
  • Oversee front office, housekeeping, and F&B functions to maintain smooth, high-standard hotel operations
  • Facilitate clear communication between departments to align on guest needs and operational priorities
  • Handle escalated guest concerns and operational challenges with professionalism and efficiency
  • Assist in crisis situations, ensuring guest safety and adherence to hotel protocols

About the successful candidate

  • Experience in hotel operations or guest services, ideally in a supervisory role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication with a guest-focused approach
  • Calm under pressure with practical problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in hotel systems (PMS) and operational procedures
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Multi-linguistic skill is a plus
