About the role

This Security Supervisor role oversees the daily operations of the hotel's security team in Suva, leading and managing a team of security officers to ensure they perform their duties effectively, maintain security standards, and respond to emergencies. The supervisor conducts security patrols of interior and exterior premises to identify and address safety and security risks, and coordinates responses to incidents such as fires, medical emergencies, and security threats. The role also covers training, scheduling, and supervising Security Guards/Officers, conducting preliminary incident investigations, enforcing access control and guest safety measures, and carrying out compliance audits and risk management. The position requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct security patrols of interior and exterior hotel premises to identify and address safety and security risks, security threats, and undesirable conditions
  • Coordinate responses to incidents such as fires, medical emergencies, and security threats
  • Train, schedule, and supervise Security Guards/Officers, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance
  • Conduct preliminary incident investigations to gather relevant information, document findings, and ensure accurate reporting of security incidents
  • Encourage adherence to safety protocols and best practices among team members
  • Step in to fulfill security officer responsibilities as required
  • Enforce safety measures, manage access control, and handle guest concerns discreetly and professionally
  • Conduct audits, ensure regulatory compliance, and update security policies to address emerging risks

About the successful candidate

  • Proven experience in a security supervisory or leadership role, preferably in hospitality
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of security operations and emergency protocols
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Certifications in First Aid, CPR, and security operations preferred
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
