About the role
This Food Stores Assistant role sits within the resort's food and beverage or purchasing operation, handling receiving and storage of merchandise and food supplies. The role owns tasks such as staging and marking deliveries for the correct department, completing requisition forms, and notifying a manager or supervisor of low stock levels. It also covers inspecting incoming deliveries for freshness and quality, rotating stock, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards across storage and refrigeration areas. The position involves physical tasks including standing or walking for a full shift, lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds, and working around stairs, ramps, and uneven or elevated surfaces.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and stage merchandise by department, mark it for placement, and deliver it to the correct department
- Stack received merchandise on pallets or carts
- Complete requisition forms for inventory and supplies
- Notify manager or supervisor of low stock levels in a timely manner
- Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock
- Inspect deliveries to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality; refuse damaged or incorrect items
- Organize, clean, and sanitize refrigerators, freezers, floors, food equipment, and drains
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager; complete required safety training
About the successful candidate
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (preferred)
- No related work experience required
- No supervisory experience required
- No license or certification required
- Able to stand, sit, or walk for an entire work shift
- Able to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Able to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and over sloping or uneven surfaces
- Able to read and visually verify information such as small print
