About the role

The Licensed Electrical Technician handles installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and infrastructure across the property. The role sits within the Engineering Department and is accountable for keeping electrical assets running safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards while supporting guest comfort and operational continuity. Work spans guest rooms, public areas, kitchen, laundry, back-of-house, and exterior electrical systems, including distribution systems, switchboards, transformers, generators, and lighting. The technician also supports refurbishment and renovation projects, assists with commissioning new equipment, manages electrical spare parts inventory, and maintains compliance and inspection records. Two vacant positions are currently available for this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components throughout the property.
  • Conduct routine inspections of electrical distribution systems, switchboards, transformers, generators, lighting systems, power outlets, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults, equipment failures, and power distribution issues.
  • Maintain and service guest room, public area, kitchen, laundry, back-of-house, and exterior electrical systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and monitor emergency lighting, backup power systems, and standby generators.
  • Respond to electrical maintenance requests and maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and testing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Follow safety procedures, use PPE, and ensure all electrical work stays within the scope of the technician's license and legal requirements.

About the successful candidate

  • Hold a valid Electrical Technician License recognized in Fiji.
  • Trade Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation, or a related trade.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, building services, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution systems, switchboards, generators, lighting systems, motors, control panels, and electrical protection devices.
  • Experience in hospitality, commercial, industrial, or facilities maintenance environments is advantageous.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance documentation.
  • Good communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays; must have working rights in Fiji.
