About the role
This Landscape GSA role sits within the property's grounds and gardens team, keeping the resort's outdoor areas looking well presented for guests. The position covers planting, replacing, and maintaining flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns, along with the upkeep of fountains, planters, and other grounds features. It also involves operating and maintaining irrigation systems, using vehicles and equipment such as dump trucks, tractors, and utility vehicles to move materials, and keeping all equipment clean and fuelled after use. The GSA is expected to follow safety and security procedures, report any defective equipment or unsafe conditions, maintain a clean and professional appearance, and support the wider team in meeting quality standards. The physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, working on uneven or sloping ground, and using ladders as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance.
- Maintain fountains, planters, and other grounds features by cleaning, replacing, or repairing them.
- Install new flowers, bulbs, grass, trees, and shrubs, and replace or transplant them as needed.
- Maintain flower beds, baskets, and boxes by watering, weeding, trimming, and other upkeep.
- Trim and prune trees and shrubs, and edge grass in areas mowers cannot reach.
- Maintain lawns through mowing, edging, and raking leaves.
- Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems.
- Operate dump trucks, tractors, and utility vehicles to transport equipment, supplies, and debris, and wash and refuel equipment after use.
About the successful candidate
- Open to Fiji Citizens only.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
- No supervisory experience required.
- Able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or an entire shift.
- Able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Comfortable moving over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and using ladders.
- Willing to follow safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions.
