About the role
This Kitchen Attaché role sits within the resort's kitchen team, handling food preparation and cooking duties to recipe and presentation standards. The position covers both hot and cold food preparation, equipment operation, and quality checks throughout service. It also includes workstation setup and breakdown, cleaning and sanitising kitchen areas and tools, and verifying correct appliance and food temperatures. The role requires following safety and security procedures, reporting hazards or maintenance issues to a manager, and completing required safety training. Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables; weigh, measure, and mix ingredients.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
- Prepare cold foods and test foods to determine if cooked sufficiently.
- Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Monitor food quality while preparing food, and serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles.
- Set up and break down work stations; wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Check and ensure correct temperatures of appliances and food; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to a manager.
About the successful candidate
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
- At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No license or certification required.
- Able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or an entire work shift.
- Able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
