About the role
This Bar GSA (General Service Associate) role covers opening and closing duties for the bar, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking up at the end of service. The associate checks in with a captain or supervisor before leaving at the end of each shift. Day-to-day work involves stocking ice, glassware, and paper supplies, keeping the bar and work areas clean and set up to standard, and clearing soiled wares from the bar top and tables. The role also includes direct guest interaction, welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating their service needs, and assisting individuals with disabilities. Safety and security procedures must be followed, including reporting accidents or unsafe conditions and completing required safety training.
Key responsibilities
- Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors.
- Set up, stock, and maintain work areas, including ice, glassware, and paper supplies.
- Remove soiled wares from the bar top and tables.
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of work areas, bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines.
- Follow company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate and address guests' service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, and support the team to reach common goals.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
About the successful candidate
- Open to Fiji Citizens only.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in a bar, restaurant, or Food & Beverage service role within the hospitality industry.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No license or certification required.
