About the role
This Loss Prevention Officer role covers patrolling all areas of the property and helping guests with room access. The position involves monitoring security systems, including Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and the fire life safety system, and locking property entrances when required. The officer responds to emergencies, accidents, and disturbances, coordinating with EMS or administering first aid/CPR as needed, and documents incidents through reports and shift summaries. Duties also include conducting hazard inspections, investigations, and interviews, escorting unwelcome persons from the property, and maintaining confidentiality of security records. The role requires standing, walking, and moving through varied and physically demanding environments for extended periods.
Key responsibilities
- Patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access
- Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm system, duress alarms, and fire life safety system
- Lock property entrances when required
- Conduct daily physical hazard inspections
- Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required
- Complete incident reports and a Loss Prevention shift summary/daily activity report
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties
- Escort unwelcome persons from the property and defuse guest/employee disturbances
About the successful candidate
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (preferred)
- 1 year of related work experience (preferred)
- No supervisory experience required
- No license or certification required
- Able to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or an entire work shift
- Able to move, lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and over 75 pounds with assistance
- Comfortable moving through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and over uneven or slippery surfaces
