About the role
The Manager Learning & Development plays a strategic role in building a culture of continuous learning, service excellence, and talent growth within the hotel. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs that enhance associate performance, support operational needs, and strengthen the hotel's guest-centric service philosophy. The role partners closely with department heads to identify training gaps, develop learning solutions, and ensure that all associates are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Promote and inform employees about all training programs and administer employee training initiatives
- Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify excellent customer service, and create a positive atmosphere for guest relations
- Help employees identify specific behaviors that contribute to service excellence and provide ongoing training on guest expectations
- Use effective training methods to ensure employees understand guest satisfaction and can demonstrate guest satisfaction skills
- Monitor enrollment and attendance at training classes, meet regularly with participants to assess progress and address concerns
- Partner with operational leaders to assess if employees demonstrate effective technical and leadership skills
- Review comment cards, guest satisfaction results, and other data to identify areas of improvement and measure transfer of learning
- Develop training program plans aligned with organizational mission and vision, identify performance gaps, and manage training budgets in alignment with HR and property financial goals
About the successful candidate
- University Degree in Human Resources, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- 3 years or more experience in human resources or related professional area
- Certified Trainer (Training of Trainers - Level 4)
- Eligible for individuals with working rights in Fiji
