About the role
This Housekeeping Attendant role is responsible for servicing guest rooms at the resort, from restocking carts with supplies to entering rooms, cleaning bathrooms, changing linens, making beds, and removing trash and room service items. The attendant checks that in-room appliances are present and working, tidies furnishings, dusts and polishes surfaces, and vacuums carpets and hallways. The role also involves following safety and security procedures, reporting maintenance or safety issues, and maintaining a clean, professional appearance. Guest interaction is part of the job, including welcoming guests, anticipating their needs, and assisting individuals with disabilities. Physical demands include lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted, pushing and pulling loaded housekeeping carts, and standing, kneeling, or walking for extended periods during a shift.
Key responsibilities
- Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments
- Fill cart with supplies and transport cart to assigned area
- Enter guest rooms following proper access and vacancy-check procedures
- Replace guest amenities, supplies, linens, and terry items
- Make beds, clean bathrooms, and remove trash and room service items
- Check that all appliances are present and in working order
- Dust, polish, straighten furnishings, and vacuum carpets and hallways
- Follow safety and security policies and report maintenance or safety hazards
About the successful candidate
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred
- About 1 year of related work experience preferred
- No supervisory experience required
- No license or certification required
- Able to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds unassisted, and more with assistance
- Able to push and pull loaded housekeeping carts over sloping and uneven surfaces
- Able to stand, kneel, or walk for extended periods across a full shift
- Open to Fiji citizens only
