About the role
This is a Food and Beverage Guest Service Assistant position based on Tokoriki Island, working a rostered stay-on-island schedule. The role covers restaurant service, outlet set-up and closing duties, and direct guest interaction throughout the dining experience. It involves maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards for china, glass, and silverware, as well as general operational support for the Food and Beverage team. The assistant is expected to build guest relationships that encourage repeat visits and respond to general enquiries with tailored service.
Key responsibilities
- Complete closing duties including storing and breaking down goods, cleaning equipment and areas, restocking items, and finishing the daily cleaning checklist.
- Set up, stock, and maintain work areas.
- Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, including answering telephones with appropriate etiquette.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, and respond appropriately to colleagues' concerns.
- Assist with the restaurant service period, handle general guest enquiries, and support the Food and Beverage team in general operational tasks.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new guests through engaging experiences and thoughtful service.
