About the role

This role delivers massage and body treatment services to resort guests, including body scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy. The therapist assesses guest needs and checks for contraindications such as allergies, high blood pressure, or pregnancy before starting any treatment. Day-to-day duties include escorting guests to and from treatment rooms, preparing workstations and treatment rooms, and maintaining guest comfort and safety throughout each service. The role also involves promoting and selling spa and salon services and retail offerings, cleaning and sterilising tools, and keeping the workstation tidy and stocked. Therapists are expected to stay current with techniques and modalities in their field and to follow Marriott's standard operating procedures, including handling inappropriate guest conduct by informing a supervisor or manager when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide massage services to guests using props and/or products
• Provide body treatments including body scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy
• Assess guest needs and check for contraindications such as allergies, high blood pressure, or pregnancy before service
• Escort guests to and from treatment rooms and arrange workstations, treatment rooms, and drapes
• Check in with guests throughout service to ensure comfort, safety, and security
• Promote and sell spa/salon services and related retail offerings
• Clean, maintain, and sterilise tools, and keep the workstation and treatment room tidy
• Monitor time schedules, report unsafe conditions, and follow standard procedures for handling inappropriate guest behaviour

About the successful candidate

• Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree preferred
• At least 1 year of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Must maintain current skills and licensure in the service area as per regional requirements
• Able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
• Able to move, lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance
