About the role
The Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing systems and fixtures across the property. This role ensures the efficient operation of water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems while supporting guest comfort and operational continuity. The Plumber plays a key role in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards, contributing to overall property upkeep and guest satisfaction. The role also involves collaborating with Engineering and other departments during repairs, upgrades, and maintenance projects, and responding to guest maintenance requests. This role is island-based and requires working on a rostered stay-on-island schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogged drains, and faulty fixtures to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Install and maintain pipe systems, fittings, valves, and plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, and appliances
- Conduct pressure tests and inspections to identify leaks and ensure proper functionality of plumbing systems
- Review building plans, specifications, and codes to plan and execute installations accurately
- Perform routine checks on plumbing systems and related equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend asset lifespan
- Maintain stock levels of plumbing materials and tools, ensuring availability for ongoing maintenance needs
- Identify and report safety hazards, system faults, and maintenance requirements promptly
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and support property-wide emergency procedures
About the successful candidate
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, installation methods, and repair techniques
- Ability to identify issues quickly and implement effective corrective actions
- Understanding of safety standards, building codes, and compliance requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and working in confined or elevated spaces
- Eligible for individuals with working rights in Fiji
