About the role

This is an island-based position on Tokoriki Island requiring a rostered stay-on-island work schedule. The Restaurant Supervisor ensures staff work together as a team to deliver optimum service and meet guest needs, while checking staff grooming and attire and correcting any deficiencies. The role covers opening and closing duties, inventory and stock requisitioning, and inspecting storage areas for organisation, FIFO use, and cleanliness. It also involves monitoring dining rooms for seating, service, and guest safety, raising maintenance work orders, and assisting management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching employees. The supervisor serves as a first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process and is expected to uphold safety and security procedures, professional appearance, and confidentiality of company information.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure staff work together as a team to deliver optimum service and meet guest needs.
  • Inspect grooming and attire of staff and rectify any deficiencies.
  • Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors.
  • Inspect storage areas for organisation, use of FIFO, and cleanliness.
  • Complete scheduled inventories and requisition necessary supplies.
  • Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, and guest safety and well-being.
  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
