About the company

British American Tobacco Fiji is part of the global BAT group, a multi-category business working toward building a smokeless world. In Fiji, BAT operates a manufacturing site in Suva and runs internship programmes to develop local talent alongside its factory operations.

About the role

This internship supports the deployment and execution of the Integrated Work System (IWS) program across the Suva manufacturing site. The role partners closely with factory stakeholders, Pillar Leaders, and Operational Leadership Teams to sustain a zero-loss culture and strengthen operational excellence. Work spans both business-focused tasks, such as tracking IWS execution and supporting audits, and people-focused tasks, such as coordinating training and capability assessments for pillar teams. The intern will also help facilitate IWS workshops, deployment events, and improvement forums, and benchmark with regional and global IWS networks.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and execution of IWS activities across the factory, ensuring alignment with site objectives and manufacturing priorities.
  • Maintain and update IWS trackers, dashboards, scorecards, and reporting systems to monitor progress and performance.
  • Support Daily Direction Setting (DDS) and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities through regular reviews with teams and individuals.
  • Monitor IWS execution status, identify barriers to progress, and support corrective actions and reapplication opportunities.
  • Participate in pilot projects and factory-wide implementation of IWS tools and methodologies.
  • Support factory IWS audits, assessments, and phase progression reviews.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to Pillar Leaders and IWS teams, including training, coaching, and capability assessments for Operational Leadership Teams and pillar teams.
  • Support the organization and facilitation of IWS workshops, deployment events, and improvement forums.

About the successful candidate

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication, presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
