About the role
This is an 18-month contract position, with possible extension, engaged locally under the Fiji Program Support Platform. The Secondary Mathematics Teaching & Learning Officer works with the CAS Secondary Mathematics Team and school staff to embed the RSMC teaching and learning approach in secondary mathematics classrooms. The role involves coaching and mentoring school staff and students, co-developing practical units and lessons, and supporting the creation of contextually relevant teaching resources.
Key responsibilities
- Coach and mentor school staff and students to become competent, engaged stakeholders in using the RSMC and related teaching and learning approaches.
- Collaborate with the CAS Secondary Mathematics Team to develop and model practical units and lessons based on the RSMC's teaching strategies.
- Support school staff in developing teaching and learning resources that are contextually appropriate with real-life connections.
- Provide professional development and support school staff to deliver professional development for school staff, as required.
