The organisation convenes local safe spaces for women across Fiji's Central, West and North divisions and contributes to research on peace and security, connecting these voices to national, regional and global platforms.
About the role
The Programme Associate: Media joins the Programs Team in the Suva office as part of a young feminist media team focused on programs development and innovation. The role centres on documenting and amplifying diverse women's stories through content writing and storytelling, using a 'Do No Harm' feminist approach. This includes contributing features to femLINKpacific's community media, such as the Community Radio Times (CRT) and regional peace publications, as well as supporting virtual and social media enhancements and special campaigns. The role also involves media monitoring and analysis for reporting, plus helping support a young cohort of broadcasters at the Suva Community Media Centre (CMC).
Key responsibilities
- Document and amplify diverse women's stories through content writing and storytelling using a 'Do No Harm' feminist approach
- Contribute features and content to the Community Radio Times (CRT) and regional peace publications
- Support femLINK's virtual and social media programmatic enhancements and special campaigns
- Conduct media monitoring and provide analysis for reporting
- Help support a young cohort of broadcasters in the Suva Community Media Centre (CMC)
About the successful candidate
- Diploma or similar tertiary qualification in a relevant field
- Minimum of 2 years of solid work experience
- Strong alignment with femLINKpacific's feminist principles, values of non-violence, and commitment to human rights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate at all levels, either internal or external
- Computer literate
