About the role
This is a P-2 temporary position for 364 days based in the UNICEF Pacific Office in Suva. The Partnerships Officer works under the general guidance of the Partnerships Specialist, supporting Partnership Specialists and senior management to deepen collaboration with key stakeholders. The role provides an interface for environmental scanning, knowledge exchange, resource mobilisation and policy influence, with the aim of building greater visibility and influence for UNICEF across the 14-country Pacific programme.
Key responsibilities
- Donor reporting: coordinate narrative and financial donor reports, maintain reporting trackers, consolidate inputs, ensure compliance with donor/UNICEF requirements, and support clearance and submission processes.
- Contribution and grant management: support grant creation, amendments and no-cost extensions in UNISON, ensure timely payment requests, fulfil visibility and closure requirements, and coordinate follow-up.
- Funding pipeline and resource mobilisation: track funding opportunities, pipeline status, income trends and funding gaps, and prepare analyses to support donor engagement, programme planning and resource mobilisation.
- Donor intelligence and partner mapping: research current and potential partners, maintain donor mapping tools and profiles, and identify alignment with UNICEF Pacific programme and funding priorities.
- Donor and partner engagement: support donor and partner relations by assisting with correspondence, information requests, meeting coordination and follow-up actions.
- Partner visibility and communications: coordinate development of stories and visibility materials showcasing partner-supported results and ensure compliance with donor recognition requirements.
- Knowledge management: maintain organised records of donor reports, agreements, partner profiles, funding data and engagement materials.
About the successful candidate
- Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Political Science, Communications, International Development, International Relations, Public Affairs or a related field.
- A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in programme management, partnership management, resource mobilisation, external relations, donor relations, stakeholder engagement, policy analysis, international development, government relations, interagency coordination, communications or a related field.
- Strong communication, networking and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with governments, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge of international development issues, programming policies and procedures.
- Strong research, analytical and policy analysis skills, with the ability to gather, interpret and present information to support decision-making.
- Experience supporting resource mobilisation, partnership development and external relations initiatives.
- Ability to monitor and analyse political, social and development trends and assess their implications for programmes and partnerships.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to contribute to the formulation of strategies, partnership approaches and engagement plans; fluency in English is required.
