ROSEAP maintains a satellite presence in 10 countries, including Fiji, through its Pacific Office in Suva.
About the role
This part-time Volunteer Associate role is based in Suva, Fiji, working three days a week from 9 AM to 3 PM under the supervision of the Gender, Social Inclusion and Anti-Corruption Expert at the UNODC Pacific Office. The position supports a pilot research study on the impact of corruption on persons with disabilities, being conducted across Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Palau, and Solomon Islands in partnership with the Pacific Disability Forum. The volunteer will contribute to research planning, stakeholder engagement, data collection, analysis, and knowledge management to ensure ethical and inclusive research processes. Close collaboration is expected with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), civil society organizations, government counterparts, and other stakeholders to support local coordination and evidence generation on disability rights, governance, and anti-corruption.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake desk review of relevant research documents and literature, and help develop research tools.
- Support design of the survey questionnaire and form deployment, and assist in refining FGD and KII guides.
- Participate in research planning meetings and support logistics and scheduling for fieldwork.
- Coordinate with the Pacific Disability Forum on conducting an online survey across three pilot countries using Kobo Toolbox.
- Assist in conducting Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), ensuring ethical standards and informed consent.
- Organize and manage qualitative data, including transcribing and cleaning survey, KII, and FGD data.
- Draft sections of inception, progress, and final reports, and prepare analytical summaries of findings.
- Contribute to presentations and dissemination materials, and incorporate reviewer comments into revised reports.
