About the company
UNFPA is the United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency, working with partners in more than 150 countries to provide access to sexual and reproductive health services. Its mission is a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled, with goals of ending unmet need for family planning, preventable maternal death, and gender-based violence by 2030. UNFPA APRO, in partnership with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is launching Phase III (2026-2029) of the kNOwVAWdata initiative to build comprehensive violence-against-women data ecosystems across the Asia-Pacific region.
About the role
The Pacific Gender Research Coordinator sits within the PSRO Gender and Human Rights section and reports to the PSRO Gender and Human Rights Advisor for day-to-day programmatic oversight. It covers regional knowledge management, donor reporting to DFAT and steering committees, inter-agency research coordination, and engagement with academic and public health evidence generation. The coordinator also supports knowledge exchange across the 14 Pacific Island Countries and Territories and helps build a roster of VAW data experts and a human resource plan for the region. The duty station is Suva, Fiji, a Family Duty Station.
