About the company
Digital Superstore operates the Superstore platform in Fiji. Through its SuperEats division, it is building Fiji's first dedicated ready-to-eat food production kitchen, delivering freshly made food via the Superstore platform.
About the role
This role sits within the SuperEats production kitchen, working under the direction of the Head Chef and alongside an international culinary team. The chef runs their own station, handling prep, cooking, holding, and plating to standard while following recipes and production specs exactly. Beyond cooking duties, the role includes training and guiding Kitchen Hands, assisting with stock management, and keeping the Head Chef updated on production status. It is a full-time position across a 7-day production operation, with rostered shifts covering mornings, afternoons, and weekends, confirmed on hire.
Key responsibilities
- Execute recipes and production tasks to spec under Head Chef direction
- Manage your station — prep, cook, hold, and plate to standard
- Maintain strict food safety, temperature control, and hygiene protocols
- Support menu development and contribute ideas when asked
- Train and guide Kitchen Hands on your station
- Assist with stock management, labelling, and rotation
- Uphold kitchen discipline — clean as you go, no shortcuts
- Communicate proactively with the Head Chef on production status
About the successful candidate
- Formal culinary training or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 2 years working in a commercial kitchen
- Strong knife skills and sound cooking technique across at least one cuisine
- Ability to work at pace without compromising quality or hygiene
- Coachable — open to feedback and willing to adapt to new systems
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Nice to have: experience in high-volume production or catering environments
- Nice to have: knowledge of multiple cuisines and food safety certification
