Creative and Production Manager

Retail & SalesFull time

Competitive salary commensurate with experiencePosted 7 weeks ago

About the company

Digital Superstore is a retail employer operating in Fiji. The business is in a growth phase and is preparing to launch new brands under a shared company umbrella.

About the role

This role owns the operational discipline behind creative output, while the creative vision itself stays with the GM for now. The Creative and Production Manager reviews and approves all creative work before it ships, acting as the final quality gate across channels. They manage, mentor, and develop an existing team of 5 direct reports spanning content, design, and production, handling briefs, deadlines, and quality control day to day. The role also involves translating strategic briefs from the Head of Marketing into clear creative direction, coordinating with the Analytics & Promotions Manager so creative decisions are informed by performance data, and managing external vendors or freelancers as needed. It is an execution and team-leadership focused position where production discipline and coaching ability matter more than originating creative concepts. Longer term, as the business launches new brands under a shared umbrella, this person may help shape how brand identity scales across that portfolio.

Key responsibilities

  • Take the GM's creative direction and brand vision and turn it into shipped, on-standard output across all channels
  • Review and approve all creative output before it goes live — the final quality gate
  • Manage, mentor, and develop 5 direct reports across content, design, and production — set clear expectations and give real, constructive feedback
  • Own the production calendar and workflow — briefs in, deadlines tracked, assets QA'd before anything ships
  • Run quality control on outgoing assets — brand compliance, accuracy, consistency
  • Translate strategic briefs from the Head of Marketing into clear creative direction the team can execute against
  • Coordinate with the Analytics & Promotions Manager so creative is informed by data on what's working
  • Manage external vendors or freelancers as needed

About the successful candidate

  • 5+ years in a creative production or creative leadership role with genuine, demonstrated people-management experience — not just individual creative output
  • Real coaching ability, with a track record of closing genuine skill gaps with less-experienced team members, patiently and without shortcuts
  • Strong process and organizational discipline alongside solid creative judgment — this is an execution-and-standards role, not a pure creative-visionary profile
  • A portfolio or track record showing reliable, high-quality production output, not just concepting
  • Comfortable executing someone else's creative vision faithfully, while still catching and fixing quality issues
  • Able to think beyond a single brand — curious about how identity systems scale across a portfolio, even without direct experience doing it yet
  • Nice to have: experience in an agency or in-house environment managing both creative and production/traffic functions
  • Nice to have: experience in retail, e-commerce, or delivery/consumer apps, or building/maturing a brand system from scratch
