About the role
The Finance Analyst supports Airports Fiji Limited's financial health through financial planning, analysis, and performance monitoring of Strategic Business Units. This role delivers monthly performance analysis, variance reporting, and budget forecasting to inform business decisions, while ensuring investment oversight, cost management, and financial compliance align with organisational strategy. The Finance Analyst presents SBU performance insights to the Financial Controller and management team, and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support data integrity and reporting processes.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse monthly SBU financial and operational performance.
- Prepare monthly management reports, including variance analysis against budget and forecast.
- Analyse SBU performance using ratio, profitability, trend, and key driver analysis, identifying risk areas impacting performance.
- Support preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans aligned with organisational strategy.
- Develop and maintain financial models for scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate OPEX and CAPEX proposals through cost-benefit analysis and investment appraisal in line with AFL finance policy.
- Ensure financial activities comply with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Prepare financial reports for senior management covering budget performance, investment status, and SBU financial analysis.
About the successful candidate
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years' experience in financial analysis, budgeting, planning, or related roles.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Experience with budget preparation, variance analysis, financial modelling, and performance reporting.
- Proficiency with Excel and financial systems.
