About the role
The Treasury Accountant handles the day-to-day execution of Fiji Airports' treasury and finance activities in line with the Treasury Management Policy. The role covers cash and liquidity management, investment and reserve fund administration, capital-programme financing, debt administration, financial risk monitoring, cost control, and treasury reporting. It ensures treasury transactions are properly recorded, IFRS-compliant, and aligned with Board-approved policy, supporting the organisation's liquidity, financial stability, and statutory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Manage daily cash positions and liquidity buffers; prepare weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts and verify funds availability before OPEX and CAPEX commitments are approved
- Administer surplus fund investments within the Authorised Investment Instrument List and approved limits
- Administer and reconcile the Asset Replacement & Preventative Maintenance Fund and the Airport Security & Development Fund
- Administer debt drawdowns, servicing and grant funds across the capital programme's multiple facilities and tranches
- Maintain debt schedules and monitor borrowing limits, DSCR, covenants and repayment obligations
- Monitor interest rate, foreign exchange and counterparty credit risks and support hedging activities
- Implement cost-control measures across borrowing, banking and FX transactions
- Prepare monthly treasury reports and ensure treasury and PPP/concession accounting complies with relevant IFRS standards
About the successful candidate
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
- Membership (or working towards) of a recognised professional body such as CPA Australia is desirable
- 6 - 8 years' experience in treasury, financial accounting or a related finance role
- Sound knowledge of IFRS (IFRS 9, 7, 13; IAS 32, 21, 23) and service-concession accounting (IFRIC 12, IFRS 16) as applied to treasury, financial instruments and PPP arrangements
- Experience administering debt facilities, drawdowns, covenants and financing/grant arrangements
- Strong financial modelling, cash flow forecasting and reconciliation skills
- Understanding of RBF exchange control regulations and the Public Enterprise Act
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to maintain integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information
