Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) is the government entity responsible for managing and maintaining Fiji's road network. FRA operates from its Head Office in Suva and oversees infrastructure works across the country.
About the role
The Solicitor position is based at FRA's Head Office in Suva. The role's objective is to provide effective, efficient legal advisory services, support and assistance in managing legal and contractual risks for FRA. This includes handling contract negotiation, preparation and administration under Fiji regulatory and government/commercial contract law, as well as drafting legislation and managing case files related to litigation and conveyancing.
About the successful candidate
- Bachelor's Degree in Law and Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
- Admission to the High Court of Fiji
- At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in professional law practice will be an added advantage
- Some knowledge and experience with regulatory (Fiji) laws dealing with government and/or commercial contract administration, particularly contract negotiation, preparation and administration
- Some knowledge of the practical and legal aspects of drafting legislation and associated litigation, conveyance and procedure, managing case files
- Group 2 Driving license
